On August 1, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church welcomed Ellen Nagode as their new Music Director. Ellen comes to Holy Trinity from Village United Methodist Church, in Hot Springs Village where she was both Organist and Handbell Director. At Holy Trinity, she will play organ and piano, direct the choir, and work with Fr. Neil Kaminski on shaping the direction of the music program.
Ellen has taught at the university level, played organ and piano, and led the music programs at a variety of churches, both liturgical and non-liturgical, and is active locally as Director of The Village Chorale.
Ellen was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she studied music and obtained her Bachelor degree at Alverno College, obtained a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and worked on a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She and her husband Greg have been married for 38 years, and have lived in Greenville, North Carolina, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Dallas, Texas. They have been residents in the Village since 2010, and have one daughter, and a 5 year-old grandson who also live in the Village. Greg also is an accomplished composer and pianist, and both have been involved in the broader music scene in the Village.
“We are blessed to have Ellen with us, and I look forward to working with her,” said Fr. Kaminski.
Fr. Neil was installed as the Rector at Holy Trinity on June 4, 2014, by Bishop Benfield.
